About Young Resliont

Young Resliont - otherwise known as Kieran Young- is a South-African born, Perth raised mental health advocate using his lived experience as the foundation of his peer-based practice, working as an exercise physiologist and peer support worker to make meaningful change in people’s lives. Kieran has completed his Bachelors with a double degree in Sports Science and Exercise Rehabilitation, has stayed up to date with his certificates in Fitness, and is a qualified Peer Support Worker through CoMHWA, WCIT North Metropolitan Tafe and ECU Western Australia.

Kieran is passionate about the power of physical movement to improve wellbeing and mental health. He believes learning to overcome barriers and challenges in physical fitness and training powerfully translates to everyday life skillsets of resilience and increases a person’s ability to overcome hardship. He is also an advocate for the importance of maintaining physical fitness as good cardiovascular, muscular and neurological health are directly related to improvements in mental health and they should always be worked on collectively in a holistic approach.

A session with Kieran would look like a workout in the gym training muscles/ cardio/ tailored to the individual, but simultaneously Kieran will use his skills as a peer worker and lived experience mental health advocate to therapeutically support your mental health and any challenges you may be facing, ultimately resulting in a wrap around service aimed at improving your quality of life.

Kieran also offers support work in any kind of setting - transport, companionship, skill-building, whatever psychosocial support is best suited to the client and their needs. He has been providing support work to the community for over 2 years and has over 1000 hours experience in the field.
